The National Disability Insurance Agency (“NDIA”) is an independent statutory agency, whose role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (“NDIS”). The objective of the NDIA is to provide support and assistance for Australians living with a permanent disability, together with their families and carers.
The NDIA helps empower and inform people with a disability to be confident consumers. It provides information and referrals to necessary services and activities, provides individualised plans and where necessary, funded supports. The NDIA serves to raise community awareness and encourages greater inclusions and access for people with disability to mainstream services, community activities and other government agencies.
